My name is Toby and I am an eight year old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix.  I have had a great life with my owner, but she can no longer care for me as she is in a wheelchair.  So, I am comfortable around older handicapped people.  She really wants me to find a wonderful forever home ASAP so she we will know that I am safe and comfortable in a new home with a wonderful family.  I am a SPECIAL NEEDS dog myself as I was diagnosed with epilepsy and must take Phenobarbital twice a day which costs approximately $30. per month.  I now have occasional seizures, but nothing like I started out with  I am very active and want a family who has the time to take me for walks, hikes and keep me physically healthy.  I walk fairly well on a short leash.  I also know to stop and wait for oncoming cars until they pass.  I am good with older children, but have never been around toddlers.  I know my basic commands, but strugggle with the word STAY.  I am house trained, and have great house manners.  I am not allowed in the kitchen or dining room during meals and cannot beg for food.  But, I do like my vegetables with my meals.  I only get people food as a special treat or occcasions.  I ride very well in the car.  I love to play with toys.  My favorite thing to do is give hugs. I promise to give you lots of love and hugs if you adopt me.  I do require a secure fenced yard to keep me safe from wandering away and getting lost.  I am neutered, and my vaccinations will be current prior to my adoption.  Please CALL Best Friends of Baker,Inc 541-519-7387 for more information.  We DO NOT TEXT, but will respond to all completed applications.
