Hey there! My name is Buddy Borders and I am a young male Slick coat Border Collie. I wandered in as a stray and am now with Best Friends of Baker, Inc. in Baker City, Oregon. My foster family consists of two adults and two older dogs on a small mini ranch in the mountains. There are also ducks and chickens that I am learning about. I was recently neutered and vaccinated and my vet thinks that I am one year old. I have not had any formal training so am now being taught basic commands, walking on a leash and house training. I am very smart so will learn quickly. I am very friendly, social and ever so lovable. I am looking for an active family to take for walks, runs, hikes and perhaps swimming. I want to learn how to play fetch and other games with family members of adults and older children. I am very agile and eager to use my intelligence and energetic body to keep active and healthy. I think that I would do very well in agility trials, obedience or perhaps flyball. I have lot of love to give and want a family that will be patient with me as I learn all my manners. I want to be a member of the household, snuggling next to my people on the floor, couch, or chair. I do require a secure fenced yard to keep me safe and from wandering away ever again. However, I do not want to be a backyard dog looking in at my family while I sit outside. I am learning to ride in the back seat of a car, but NEVER IN THE BACK OF A PICKUP! Please CALL Best Friends at 541-519-7387 for more information. I am eager to find my forever home and am ready to go today.
