Hello There:  My name is Blue and I am a 8/9 month old male Border Collie looking for a new home.  My former owner could  no longer keep me and asked Best Friends of Baker to find me a wonderful new forever home.  I have one blue eye and one brown eye, have medium length hair and a long tail.  I am neutered and current on my vaccinations.  I am now living on a small family mini-ranch with adults, two grade school children, barn cats, and lots of dogs.  I am slowly being introduced to some large Standard Poodles and a couple of small Corgi type dogs.  Myfavorite playmates are Max a Red Heeler and Sarina a female German Shepherd.  We could play all day.  I am also getting lots of running and exercise playing with all of them in the large dog enclosure.  I had no formal training prior to coming to my foster home, so now I am being taught my basic commands, house manners, leash training and proper introduction to people instead of jumping on them.  I enjoy playing fetch and am really good at returning and waiting for the next throw.  II will also be learning potty training is for outside, and not inside where I live.  I am getting use to those strange critters called cats. I did meet a very large cat who chased me off the back porch and boy  was she scary.  I just ran away and never looked back. I am not allowed to get too close to them and understand that they are not to be chased. I really want an active family that will take me for walks hikes, runs and perhaps playing in the water.  So far, I have not developed the bad habit of barking which everyone appreciates.  I do not want to be adopted and then kept penned up in a crate while my owner is at work. Nor, do I want to become a working dog on a ranch.  I want to be part of my family living indoors and out.   I require a secure fenced yard which will alllow me to be free and safe from wandering away from home.  I am very smart and energetic and would make a great agillity dog or participate in some other competitive dog activity.  I am very friendly and lovable and eager to jump in a car and head out to my new home.  Please call Best Friends of Baker at 541-519-7387 for more information or visit our website bestfriendsofbaker.org for an adoption application.  WE DO NOT TEXT, but will respond to all completed applications
