See Luna's video here:

Luna is an Australian Cattle Dog puppy who came into rescue along with her sister Stella. We’re estimating her birthday as somewhere between June 30 and July 7.

Of the two sisters, Luna is slightly more of a clown, her curiosity and confidence leading her into funny situations from cooling off in the fountain to diving nose-first into a gopher hole with just her tail showing. You’ll find her tugging on Stella’s hind leg while Stella stoically tries to walk, or jumping at the face of the big dogs to get their attention. Luna acts a bit like a little sister—a party girl who is fun-loving and light hearted.

This is a NICE puppy—confident, affectionate and playful, with a very good temperament. You can see in her video how bravely she explores her world, from climbing on rock fountains and overturned wading pools to playing with big dogs many times her size. She hasn’t shown any food or toy aggression, and isn’t intimidated by loud noises or commotion. She loves people and is eager for attention, in fact it’s hard to not trip over her when you walk in the yard. Her intelligence, temperament and athleticism make her a good candidate for dog sports or as a devoted companion to someone with an active lifestyle.

Here is what Luna (and Stella's) foster mom has to say about them:  "They come when I call them and they follow me from door to door when I let them in and out. They’ve said hi to the cat on the floor but didn’t try to bug her. They’re very affectionate and love it when I sit on the steps so they can crawl all over me."

ACDs are a strong-willed working breed and demand diligent training and socialization. They are not recommended for first-time dog owners. Anyone considering this breed should do their research. Here are a few links to get you started:

Luna is sponsored by the Idaho Domestic Animal Welfare Group. Upon approval, adopters must be willing to travel to southwest Idaho to meet her and will be asked to sign a contract stating that she will be spayed by the time she is 12 months of age.

Her adoption fee is $250 and there is a $200 spay deposit required.  The spay deposit is fully refundable when proof of spay is provided at 6 to 12 months of age.
