They call me "Tucker" Steele since I was found on the Steele Ranch outside of Haines on the Anthony Lakes Highway. I am a young male Smooth Coat Border Collie with one blue eye and one brown. I think that I got lost from my owners a long time ago and nobody showed up to claim me.  I was really thin and worn out and my nails were worn clear down as if I had traveled many miles.  I am currently living on the Steele Ranch as a foster dog and doing extremely well with all the adults, five dogs (male and female), horses and goats. I have not shown any interest in the livestock which tells me I was most likely dumped.  I have been invited into the ranch house and now use the doggie door. I am house trained and get to sleep on my own big bed in the master bedroom with the owner of the ranch.   I like to run along the side of a four-wheeler but have not learned how to ride on one yet. I am very friendly and well socialized and energetic.  I would like to find an active family that would make me a member of the family and provide me with lots of exercise.  I will make a great walking or running companion. Or, I would make a terrific competitor in agility, fly ball or maybe obedience. I do require a secure fenced yard to keep me from wandering off and getting lost again.  I am current on my vaccinations and have been neutered.  Please call Best Friends of Baker for more information at 541-519-7387  (we do not text) or go to our website bestfriendsofbaker.org for an adoption application.
