Poor Shadow was dumped out in a part of rural southern Idaho where people rarely go. We are so lucky he was found and brought to the closest animal control facility. This is a really nice dog that has not let this experience jade his opinion of humans.
We are estimating Shadow's age at 18 months. When he came to us he was very thin and malnourished. He has been given a clean bill of health from our veterinarian, has a great appetite and is gaining weight and thriving in foster care. He also loves to train for treats! He currently weighs about 40 pounds.
Shadow loves people, is good with other dogs, is now crate trained and learning house manners. We do not know how Shadow is with cats.
He recently spent an afternoon with our dog groomer and was reported to be a very good boy, very cooperative. He hasn't had any accidents in his foster home and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. Shadow rides well in the car and loves to go places with his foster family.
Shadow comes when called and knows how to 'sit'. He is a moderate energy dog that settles well indoors and loves to help his foster mom do chores. Currently gardening is his favorite.
He loves his toys! When hanging out inside with his foster family his favorite thing to do is collect all the dog toys, lay on his bed with them and then select which one to chew on.
