Cherry came to our rescue because her owner is ill and no longer able to care for Cherry. This is a sweet, small female that would love to be your new sidekick!

Cherry is heartbroken after losing her home, but is looking to bond with someone. She likes both men and women, will be a devoted companion and is happiest if by your side. She is very affectionate.

Cherry weighs about 30 pounds and is 7 to 8 years old. Her energy level is medium. She is good with a daily walk and loves helping her foster family do chores around the house and property. We were told her mother was a bearded collie mix and her dad was a purebred border collie. Right now Cherry's fur is shaved, but her previous owner tells us she normally has a longer coat. Oh, and she loves being groomed!

Cherry is okay with cats and loves children. We were told she is okay with other dogs, but our feeling is that she would be happiest as an only dog or only have to share her person with one or two other dogs.

She does not like other dogs in her face and will let them know by first raising her lip and if that doesn't get the message across, she will air snap. That usually works! She is living with several dogs in her foster home and is doing well. She is housetained, rides well in the car and loves being with her people. She is a very quiet dog, rarely barks.

We were informed she is possessive of her food around other dogs, and probably children, too. She does not like fireworks!

Cherry can scale a 4 foot fence so must be indoors if you are not outside to watch her. She is crate trained and comes with her medium size wire crate.

If you are interested in possibly adopting Cherry, please complete an adoption application. If the one on this website doesn't work for you, use the one located here:
